The Kebab and Camel was founded by a group of journalists who have had enough of the international media’s deficient reporting on Turkey. Many articles on Turkey published by a variety of journalists or commentators lack basic journalistic standards such as fact-checking, diversity of opinions, and fair reporting. Sometimes the level of sophistication in these articles is so low that it amuses us as much as listening to a foreigner who claims Turkey is only a country of camels and kebabs. (Although we don’t have any camels in Turkey, it is true that we very much like our delicious and greasy kebabs.)
He teaches Turkish history at Sabancı University, İstanbul. He holds an MA and a PhD in History from the same university.
She is a reporter for the Turkish news show Şimdi ve Burada. She studied law at Yeditepe University, Istanbul.
He is a freelance writer graduated from the Department of Political Science at Kocaeli University in 2012. He is currently studying an MA in International Relations at Bilgi University, Istanbul.
He is an Istanbul-based Turkish journalist and a senior columnist for Türkiye daily. He is executive producer of popular news show Şimdi ve Burada. He has published two books in Turkish.
